NALUGYA ESTHER posted a statusFrom May 20 - 24, 2013, a multi-stakeholder coalition of government and civil society actors in Uganda will collect health-related data in 10 districts nationwide. The coalition will collect data on: (i) citizen satisfaction with health service delivery; (ii) medicines procurement and supply chain management (including issues related to the selection, buying, distribution, control, use, financing, management support and regulation); (iii) stock monitoring of selected tracer medicines; and (iv) the availability of grievance mechanisms to allow citizen feedback on health service delivery. Citizen participation in ensuring transparency and accountability in use of public resources is increasingly becoming a societal basic need for the desired sustainable development.
I applaud the efforts of the Forum for Transparency and Accountability in the Pharmaceuticals Procurement(FoTAPP) having united to implement a multistakeholder approach in developing data collection tools and currently working together to collect the information to further advise the group's interventions.…
